Watch what
you say, what you think & how you think it, your tongue has power. When you
start praying in the spirit, it will even increase in impact whether you
realize it or not …so begin to descipline yourself with your words. God only
says what He means and means what He says. Let’s assume you ‘ve a child &
you know full well that your child does not know how to use a gun, would you
give him a gun? Of course not! In the same vain, many people cannot manifest
power as they ought to because if God activated that power within them, they
would kill people with it (even themselves) because they don’t know how to use
their tongue.
There is an
increase of careless talk in the church today but we ‘re called to be
different. I believe you can receive by Faith and the Holy Spirit is willing to
give even now.
·
Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things.
Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world
of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole
body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
James 3:5-6
·
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good
for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who
hear. Ephesians 4:29
·
If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but
deceives his heart, this person’s religion is worthless. James 1:26
·
Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my
lips! Psalm 141:3
·
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it
will eat its fruits. Proverbs 18:21
·
From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things
ought not to be so. – James 3:10
·
The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks
justice.” Psalm 37:30
·
Colossians 4:6 -Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt,
so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.
Let The Lord
Set Your Tongue on Fire!
1. Watch: Be willing to give life,
watch your speech and the words that come out of your mouth
2. Always speak: speak well of people.
Bless people with your words, not curse.
3. Refrain: refrain from using your
tongue to speak guile. The only time strong words should come out of your mouth
is against the enemy and against any work of the devil that the lord commands
you to speak or pray AGAINST evil.
Words Cause
Death
People die
because of something said. Your tongue can be weapons of mass destruction,
wars, etc. Tongues can also be the death of marriages, families, friendships,
churches, careers, hopes, understanding, reputations, missionary efforts, and
governments.
“So
what will come out of your mouth today, death or life? “Sword thrusts” or
“healing” (Proverbs 12:18)? Ask
the Lord to “Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the
door of my lips!” (Psalm 141:3).”
Make A
Decision
“Today, make
your mouth “a fountain of life” (Proverbs 10:11). Be “slow to speak” in general
(James 1:19). Encourage more than you critique.
Seek opportunities to speak kind, tenderhearted words (Ephesians 4:32). Say something affectionate to
a loved one at an unexpected time. Seek to only speak words that are “good for
building up,” that “give grace to those who hear” (Ephesians 4:29).”
