Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God! Galatians 6:7 (MSG).
Mark 12:41 – 44; 2
Corinthians 8 & 9; Giving an offering is an act of our free will, where we
find something worthy enough to give into it or support it with our free will
funds. *Offerings can display the inward heart attitude. The offering is a
choice of your will. A person must decide to release or hold on to their
seed. *Once we grasp the power behind the blessing in offerings and giving, you
will search out God’s kingdom assignments to give into and support. It is
not about a natural return, but a supernatural change in our lives and the
lives of others! Galatians 6:7 (MSG)

10 REASONS WHY IT IS MORE
BLESSED TO GIVE THAN TO RECEIVE
One of the most unbelieved messages in
the Bible is: “It is more blessed to give than receive” (Acts 20:35). How can the giver,
whose hand something is leaving, be more blessed than the getter? Is that not
some form of mistake in spiritual equations? It goes against all our reasoning
and instincts. So let me help you to believe it and act upon it by giving you
ten reasons why it is more blessed to give than to receive.
1. Giving
obeys God’s command. Luke 6:38;
2. Giving submits
to God’s Lordship: James 4:7. Every act of obedience recognizes that there
is a higher authority in our lives, that there is a Lord over us.
3. Giving
exhibits God’s kind of heart. God is The Giver of every good and perfect
gift (James 1:17). The larger our hearts (and the wider our hands), the larger
the picture we paint of God’s heart and character. It is the heart that does
the giving; the fingers only let go.
4. Giving
illustrates God’s salvation: At the heart of the Gospel is sacrificial
self-giving When we give sacrificially, painfully, for the benefit of others,
we are faintly and on a small-scale preaching the Gospel message of love. John
3:16; 2 Corinthians 8:9.
5. Giving demonstrates
trusts in God’s provision: The biggest deterrent to giving is fear, the
fear that if I give away too much I won’t have enough for this or that. Such
fear is mammon inspired. God never fails. Eccl
11:1. 2 Corinthians 9:10; Proverbs 3:9
6. Giving
widens God’s smile: It delights Him to see His people gladly
opening their hearts and hands to provide for the needs of His Church and
indeed of all His creatures. 2 Corinthians 9:6-8; 2 Corinthians 8:1-5
7. Giving
advances God’s kingdom: Many people have contributed to Apple
Computers in one way or another, and have helped to grow the company from a
garage operation to the worldwide empire it is today. There is nothing wrong
with that, as it’s a company that has brought many blessings to the world. But
think of what blessing results when we fund the mission of Christ’s church. We
are paying salaries of ministers and missionaries. We are funding resources for
outreach, evangelism, and discipleship. But above all we are investing in the
spiritual and eternal welfare of people from every nation, tribe, kindred and
tongue. Our money changes homes, relationships, countries, and even the eternal
destiny of many souls. Zechariah 1:17
8. Giving
promotes God’s Selflessness: Giving money, especially when it pains us,
requires much self-denial and self-crucifixion. However, as every act of giving
weakens and even breaks our sinful and selfish nature, the more God’s grace
spreads in our hearts. Psalm 126:6; James
2:15-16
9. Giving
testifies to God’s power: When people give in the name of Christ, it is a way of testifying of the Almightiness of the power the Highest and His dominion over the
heart of man. 1 Chronicles 29:14; Psalm 62:11
10. Giving
praises God’s character: Giving in a right spirit is an act of
worship. It is rendering Him a tribute of praise. It is saying. “You gave me everything
and here is an expression of my gratitude and praise for all your good gifts.
Behind All True Giving Is A Good Heart For God. Psalms 116:12,17; 1
Samuel 2:6-9
Do you now see how giving makes us more
blessed than getting?
My Closing Thoughts: *If you want to touch the
past, touch a rock; If you want to touch the present, touch a flower; If you
want to touch the future, touch a life.*It’s good to be blessed; It’s better to be a
blessing.*When you cease to make a contribution, you begin to die.*As
we work to create light for others, we naturally light our own way. *Service
to God and others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth. The day you
stop rendering serving, your room here on earth starts depreciating. *The
true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to
sit. *If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.
